Workout Wednesdays!

Wait! It’s not Wednesday. You can do workouts any day of the week. I just call my program Workout Wednesdays so I can get some exercise in at least once a week. The great part about workouts, you can do these anywhere and anytime. Tired of the rain and cold outside? Get some music and work it out!

This program can be used as either a warm-up into a group assembly or as an activity. The workout leader must call up some kid leaders and a counselor leader to join them. Those kids and staff will help follow along to the exercise and dances you lead. This sells the workout when they have their own peers in front of them doing this. When the music is playing you are constantly leading exercises and dances. Stop in between and some light things so they can catch their breath. The key is to not be afraid of what people will think of you. You want to make them laugh, have fun, and get exercise in all at the same time.

You will need just a few things to make this program fun…

  1. Music/Stereo
  2. Kid Leaders
  3. Counselor Leaders
  4. Game Plan of Exercises and Dances or Just Freestyle
